What Hot Tub Cover Is Best For Me?

Finding the right cover for you and your spa is not as hard as you might make it. Your cover should be in direct correlation with where you live and what climate you are in. In you live in a warm area you are not going to buy an thick insulated cover because it is simply heavy, bulky and is not needed due to the warm weather. Same for the opposite if you live in a cold area your not going to want a tonneau cover which will let all the warmth out making your electricity bill sky rocket and your parts inside the hot tub work harder then they need to.

For warmer climate areas I suggest you go with strictly what your surroundings are like. Ask yourself questions like do you have kids? do you have dogs that like to chew thinks? Do you get a lot of blown debris everywhere? If you have young kids you should definitely have their safety in mind when buying a hot tub cover. You will need something firm and sturdy in case one day they decide they want to play near it ensuring they will not fall in or have some sort of mishap. An insulated or aluminum cover would suffice for this situation. Now don’t go spending a huge amount on your insulated find a think but sturdy good quality cover that isn’t going to rot in a few months/years. Investing in a good cover is worth it in the long wrong. Now for dogs that like to chew. Aluminum is your best bet because simply put they can’t chew it. Tidbit: Dogs chew things because they are bored, so you could also try not leaving them out so long or take them for a walk/throw the ball.

For colder climate areas you must and I stress the “must” get a good quality thick cover. It may be pricey at the time but you will notice it cutting down on your electricity bill immediately and you will have a big smile on your face when you do. I know I did when I bought one of these, living in Canada with a hot tub can be costly and I was super excited to see my electricity bill go down so much. Another tip I do is whenever I leave my hot tub I turn it down a bit and then whenever I decide to use it again which could be the next day I turn it back about 30 minutes before I go in. I bought my cover from a local pool and spa store which I suggest you look out for so you can inspect the cover for you as well as cut down on shipping costs. Now I am not saying don’t buy off the internet I am saying it is better to go out and look at these covers then you can decide what you want and whether it is cheaper or better to buy off the internet.

Some Online hot tub cover companies I recommend.
- Arctic Spas

- Master Spas

- SpaDepot

- Spa Cover Buy Direct

- Discount Spa Covers

- The Cover Guy (Good for getting a good price range and size up for your spa)

Just Remember cheap is not always the way to go here. You want good quality for a good price. You will save depending on your climate and how long it will last I have been through it. Good luck with your spa/hot tub cover I enjoy mine I hope you enjoy yours just as much. Also if you are buying a insulated tub cover you may want to get a lifter to make your life easier and help your cover last long. More info on hot tub cover lifters coming soon.
